Winter puts pressure on food banks across Bristol and South Glos. Last year we provided over 137,000 meals to people in our area. The Tesco collection is one of our biggest opportunities to stock up before the hardest months. Your couple of hours means we can support more families when they need it most. With our partner Tesco, these collections bring in vital food and help more people know we’re here.
Your Role at the Collection
You’ll spend your 2-hour shift doing straightforward tasks that help the collection run smoothly:
- Greeting customers as they enter the store
- Handing shopping lists to customers, showing the items we need most
- Receiving donations from customers and thanking them
- Explaining where their donations go
- Sorting donated food ready for our van
- Helping load and unload the collection van
Shifts run from Thursday 27th November through Saturday 29th November at Tesco on Golden Hill in Henleaze. Each volunteer session lasts 2 hours. You must be 18 or over to take part. Book your slot through our Eventbrite page or email if you’d rather sign up that way.
