I run the warehouse at NBSG Foodbank. I've never seen our stock this low.

Toiletries are running out week to week. Food's tight too, though I hold the line where I can: every one of our nine outlets gets at least a week's worth of stock, every single week. That takes public campaigns, food drives, and money spent buying essentials outright when donations won't stretch far enough. We've wrung real efficiency out of the warehouse this year, but there's only so much we can squeeze out.
Summer makes it harder. Demand's high and the shelves are bare at the same time.

What we need most right now
Here's what we're short of, ranked by how urgent it is:
- Tinned fruit
- Desserts
- Fruit juices and squashes
- Cereals
- UHT milk
- Tinned tomatoes and cooking sauces
- Laundry detergent
- Washing-up liquid
- Hair care (shampoo and conditioner)
- Baby food
- Halal foods
Any of these, in any amount, makes a real difference to what goes out of our doors this week.
Drop items at a collection point near you (our office and some supermarkets take donations), or send us exactly what's on this list through our online shop and it'll land straight at the warehouse. If money's easier, that helps just as much: we buy in bulk and make it stretch further than you'd think.
Thanks,
Loki
