We include pet food in our emergency food parcels because we understand pets are family too.
At North Bristol & South Glos Foodbank, we recognise that caring for pets during financial hardship can be challenging. That’s why we provide small sachets of pet food as part of our emergency food parcels for people with referral vouchers.
When you visit one of our nine food bank outlets with your referral voucher, simply let our volunteers know that you have pets at home. We typically stock wet and dry food for cats and dogs, though availability depends on donations. While we cannot provide pet food separately without a food parcel for human needs, we’re committed to helping keep families together – including the furry members.
We understand the comfort and companionship pets provide, especially during difficult times. Research shows that maintaining the bond between people and their pets contributes significantly to emotional wellbeing, which is why we’ve integrated pet food into our support services.
Our pet food supplies come from generous community donations. If you’d like to donate pet food, you can drop items at any of our collection points throughout Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
Please note that all food bank visitors need a valid referral voucher from an authorised agency, and pet food is provided as a supplementary item to our standard food parcels.
