Flavour boosters:

  • If you like a kick, you can add some chillies or some paprika for smokiness. Oregano and basil would also work well
  • For a crunchy coating, toss ingredients in flour before adding to the pan.

This dish is simple to bulk out with vegetables for more people. Peppers, courgettes and mushrooms would all be delicious and make it go further.

Method

    Heat spread in a large frying pan. Add the potatoes, onions, garlic, spam and flavour boosters*, cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Take off the cover and fry till golden. At the same time, heat baked beans in a separate pan/ dish. Serve all up together and enjoy!
