Top tip:

Add more vegetables, such as courgette or peas, or try mixing in kidney beans to bulk it out. If you have it, add some mixed herbs for extra flavour.

Method

    Heat the oil in a large saucepan and add the minced beef, a handful at a time, cooking until browned. Add the chopped onion and cook for another few minutes.

    Add the chopped garlic, tinned tomato, grated carrot and stock. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes.

    When the sauce has been cooking for 10 minutes, start to cook the spaghetti. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil, add the pasta and bring back to the boil. Stir well and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until tender.
