Last year, North Bristol & South Glos Foodbank provided emergency food for 16,900 people. As the cost of living crisis continues, more local families are struggling to afford essentials. This winter, we face a critical challenge: donations are declining while demand for our services continues to rise.
From 3rd-10th December, we have a unique opportunity to make donations work harder. Through The Big Give Christmas Challenge, every pound donated to our Winter Appeal will be doubled by match funding. We’re aiming to raise £12,000 to support our emergency food provision and advice services across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

How Your Donation Will Be Doubled
When you donate between 3rd-10th December, The Together Fund and our supporters will match your contribution pound for pound. We have £6,000 in our matching pot ready to unlock, but we need to raise £6,000 in online donations during this week-long campaign to receive the match funding.
What Your Support Provides
We work with a network of care professionals who refer people in crisis to receive emergency food parcels. But we go beyond providing food. Through our partnership with Citizens Advice and our Advice First Project Coordinator, we help people address the root causes of their situation. We’re also developing a food club project as a stepping stone towards independence, offering coaching and ongoing support.
Our Impact
The scale of local need is significant. In the past year, we distributed over 152,500kg of food through our centres in North Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Each food parcel provides three days of nutritionally balanced meals, along with essential toiletries and household items.
Our network includes:
- Nine distribution centres across the region
- 270 dedicated volunteers
- Partnerships with local care professionals, including GPs, social workers, and school staff
- Specialist advice services through Citizens Advice
Despite the increasing challenges of the cost of living crisis, we’re committed to supporting everyone referred to us. No one should have to choose between heating and eating this winter.
Your Support Makes Double the Difference
This winter, your donation will have twice the impact. A gift of £23, when doubled to £46, provides emergency food for two people for three days. A gift of £40, when matched to £80, could feed a family of five. Even £10, doubled to £20, helps us provide essential items and support services.
We have just one week to reach our target. Every pound you give between 3rd-10th December will be automatically doubled, but only while match funding remains available.
